Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix) continued his winning streak at the 3.629 kilometres long Nürburgring sprint circuit. For the fifth time in a row, he won a race of the Formula 3 Euro Series on Saturday. Thus, his margin over Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport) in the points’ standings is now already 28 points. The German finished eighth in his home race. Next to Bianchi, Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) and Esteban Gutierrez (ART Grand Prix) came on the podium.

Only at the start, Jules Bianchi had to battle for his leading position when Valtteri Bottas turned up alongside him. After that, the Frenchman pulled clear and scored his sixth victory of the season with a margin of 13.722 seconds. Next to Bianchi and Bottas, who came home second for the fourth time this season, Esteban Gutierrez made it onto the podium for the first time in his Formula 3 career.

Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix): “It wasn’t that easy. I was pushing from the start to build up a margin over the drivers behind me. My car was fantastic once again and I am happy having won the race. Tomorrow, I will start from eighth place and I will try to score some points. My 28 points’ lead in the drivers’ standings is quite huge, but there are still nine races to go. Now, we have to keep on working like this, there is no time to relax.”

Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix): “Now I have finished second for the fourth time already. I just didn’t have a chance against Jules. But after all, I am still a rookie and have to learn quite a bit compared to Jules. Generally, I am happy with second place.”
Esteban Gutierrez (ART Grand Prix): “I am leading from one race to another. In such a strong category like the Formula 3 Euro Series, you not only have to be physically fit. I am succeeding more and more in closing up to my team-mates. I must admit that today I was a little bit nervous before my first start from the front row.”
